托福写作例文-教育话题-课程和收费
A higher charge does not necessarily mean a better course. Do you agree or disagree?
Some parents save and scrimp to send their children to reputable schools. If you ask them: why do you think this school is of high quality? They won’t hesitate to tell you it’s because courses there are more expensive. It’s time to correct our notion. High charge cannot improve the quality of one course. We’d better make a sensible choice while facing a wide assortment of courses and schools now.
For one thing, teachers who play a crucial part in improving the teaching quality won’t get the tuition fees directly. Some private schools in China, for example, may charge a lot for one course, but teachers still get the same payment as others. Even there are some incentives for teachers, I doubt they will make more efforts just because they get more money. In fact, good teachers have a very strict requirement about themselves which would not be easily influenced by the price of the courses. Furthermore, some volunteers teach in mountain areas for free, but I believe they can make their classes come alive, since they put all of their passion and love into the volunteer job.
In addition, classmates are important when we judge whether it is a good course. With capable and enthusiastic classmates, we will get motivated and have our intellects sharpened with discussion and debate. Expensive courses cannot ensure the outstanding classmates. Rather, those who believe in highly priced courses are less likely to be top students.
Admittedly, the high price may prove the popularity and recognition received by the courses. But let’s think about the two important factors of a good class, teachers’ teaching quality and good environment created by classmates. If you believe they really matter, you will have more scientific standards to judge a course and won’t be easily misled by the fake impression created by the high price of this course.
